Storm Shelter

Every year our spring showers turn into some pretty nasty storms. Sometimes they get so bad that you gotta hide ya kids, hide ya wife, hide ya husband! I would say it’s times like these that I start thinking, “I wish we had a good storm shelter.” We pretty much just pile into the laundry room and pray, or Jess passionately quotes Psalm 91, and I mean passionately!

This is a great analogy when it comes to what Jesus has done for us. Let’s look at this scripture passage so I can explain…

Psalm 34:22(AMP)-The Lord redeems the lives of his servants and none of those who take refuge and trust in him shall be condemned or held guilty.

When it comes to our shortcoming, failures, sins, or the wrong we have done, we must remember that Jesus paid the price for those sins. Let’s look at Jesus as our shelter or storm cellar that protects us from our own short comings, sins, etc. When we climb into Jesus like an underground storm shelter and stay in Him, we are safe from all of our sins and failures! It doesn’t matter how severe a sin it is. Our eternity and our relationship with God is protected when we are in Christ. When you’re in that shelter, there is a peace that you find that can come no other way. Even when you have committed sin or done wrong, in Christ there is redemption because he takes the beating so you can be safe.

I’m so thankful that we serve a God that wants to take the beating of the storms of our sins and hold us and protect us! He is good, He is willing, and He is able! Thank you God!
