Foolish plans

Have you ever had a conversation with somebody and they acted as though they had everything all planned out perfectly?  Dealing with youth on a weekly basis, you tend to see and hear A LOT of these stories.  More often then not, its a guy/girl thing.  Guy meets girl.  Girl likes guy.  Guy and girl hook up and start posting puppy love photos of each other on social media.  They say things like, she is the most beautiful, authentic, genuine, and loving person I have ever met…even though we met 12 minutes ago…She says, he is so hott and manly.  Then they take it a step further to try and convince everyone that this is their “soul mate.”  (insert up chuck face here)…A whopping 2 weeks goes by and you haven’t seen either of them because they are so consumed with each other. You try to speak some sense into these people but they have it ALLLLLL figured out.  You would probably get further talking to a bush outside in the garden. All of a sudden, they are broken up and it’s as if the guy was dating satan or vise versa!

News flash!  We do this with God ALLLLL the time!  We think we know God’s plans inside and out and that we are really committed in this walking with Him thing, when in reality, whenever something gets hard, we immediately fall back.  We argue with Him and try to convince Him that what He asked us to do can’t be done. I have a word of encouragement for you.  Gods not a goober.  He really is quite brilliant and knows the end from the beginning.  Check out what He says in 1st Corinthians 1:25!

25 This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

Wanna know something??  God’s foolish plan, includes you.  God has a way of doing things right.  He doesn’t guess 58 times on something hoping that He will get it right this time.  He gets the grand slam on everything He does.  When He created you for His plan, it was an out of the park grand slam move.  People in your life may think…oh, thats just so and so…but that is not what God thinks about you!  The thought of you makes Him explode with excitement!

If we will turn our ears to Him and allow Him to have control, we will begin to experience God in ways that we didn’t know we could.  He is going to ask us to do things that may seem “foolish” but let me just remind you that His foolishness far outweighs the wisest human plans.  Get ready to have some flavor in your life when you say yes to what God is asking of you.  Its imperative in this time that we as followers of Christ take it further than just having Jesus as our savior.  He wants to be our Lord as well, which means whatever He says goes.

His foolish plan will rock your world with all of His goodness if we will simply do what He says to do, when He says to do it.  God’s plan for you is the best.  It’s not just good.  It’s the best thing for you!!
