Mountain Retreat

Have you ever felt like you needed time away? Your thought is that the tough situation you’re in or the busyness in life would be lessened if only you could have some time at a peaceful location? For me, it would be the beach…more specifically Hawaii. For my husband it would be a secluded Alaskan cabin nestled in the woods with nearby mountains, lakes, rivers and wild life….or you could say a “mountain retreat.”

What is your “mountain retreat?” Begin to picture that place. Think of the most peaceful location. Imagine yourself there. Did you know you can have this every single day?

Let’s look at Psalm 94:17-22 MSG>

“If GOD hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, GOD, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.

Can Misrule have anything in common with you? Can Troublemaker pretend to be on your side? They ganged up on good people, plotted behind the backs of the innocent. But GOD became my hideout, God was my high mountain retreat.”

David was a man who was continually having people coming after him to kill him and destroy him and his family. That’s a pretty bad situation. That would make me want a vacation and time away!

We see here though, that David didn’t see a place or time away on vacation as the answer to his problems. He sought The Lord.

David refers to The Lord here as a hideout and high mountain retreat. Need a hideout from the situations and busyness of life? Do you need refreshing? God is that and more! Get away with Him. Spend time with Him and you will come down from that “mountain retreat” with Him feeling refreshed. Renewed strength, peace, wisdom and answers will come from this time with Him.

You’re booked for a mountain retreat…..and guess what…..it’s free!! Now doesn’t that sound refreshing?!
