Joy Unspeakable

Joy Unspeakable

In life there can be so many distractions and things that can try to steal your joy. Little thoughts can try to steal your joy, a small or large situation can try to steal your joy. Something someone does or doesn’t do can try to steal your joy. The question is, will you let it steal your joy?

The Lord doesn’t want us to be moved by life or circumstances. He wants us to find our joy in Him and keep that joy no matter what is thrown at us.
The Lord is our joy and when we are spending time with Him and spending time in His presence that is when true joy is brought to us. When we know what the word says and we am constantly meditating on it. We cannot be moved. Psalm 94:19 says, “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.” When things in life get hectic. Remember the Lord is our comforter and he brings us joy even in the craziness of life. It is up to us to choose Him and to not be moved by what we see or hear.

Another helpful way to keep your joy is to reflect on what the Lord has done. Psalm 126:3 says, “ The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”  What has the Lord done for you? Many of us have recently taken time to reflect on what the Lord has done for us this past year. That brings us such joy because we see the true heart of our father. His caring nature and faithfulness displayed in our lives. I want to encourage you to take time to reflect on what the Lord has done for you, not just this past year but even throughout your life. He has been good to us. Let’s not let circumstances or life steal our joy. Let’s press into Him, spend time in His presence and receive His amazing love and joy daily.
