Grace and Kindness

 “Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.”

Ephesians 2:7-10 MSG

^7-10 Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

Now I want to point out a few things in this passage.

1. It says God wants to shower us with grace and kindness in Christ Jesus.  How awesome is it that God's desire is to be gracious to us and shower us with grace and kindness. That speaks of a loving father whose character is good and who's plans for us are good. 
2. Salvation and redemption was all his idea. It's not something that man came up with to change peoples moral compass, or for the church to gain support to creating a bunch of robots and and mindless followers but in God's loving kindness his plan was always to be in fellowship with Him forever in eternity. 
3. Love this part the most, it is a free gift. At Christmas time you don't earn your gifts people who care about you and love you freely spend their time their money their resources to get you something for you to enjoy and for you to benefit from. So there is no earning or being qualified or following the steps all you have to do is receive it.  
4. Lastly, God has made us partners in his plan and has honored us with the opportunity and the responsibility of bringing His free gift to the world. How awesome is it that we get to partner with the creator of the universe The king of kings and the Lord of lords. 

Thank you Lord for the free gift of salvation and all that comes with it, thank you that you are a gracious and kind father who loves us and it is your desire to do good for us and to us.  We partner with you today to share this very thing with as many people as we can, in Jesus name. Amen.
