Living in Peace and Safety in a World That is Not
In this world of unimaginable evil and uncertainty, is it
really possible to be at peace and rest, and have confidence that no matter
what is going on around us, we and our families can live our lives in perfect
safety and peace?
According to Psalms 91, the answer to that question is a
most definite yes! When God is our
dwelling place, verse one tells us that we remain stable and fixed under the
shadow of the Almighty (Whose power no foe can withstand). That’s good news right there!
The Psalmist says in verse 2, “I will say of the Lord He is
my Refuge …”. This key is vitally
important in what plays out in our lives.
Who are we saying the Lord is to us?
Are we declaring that He is our Refuge, our Protector? This key is true in all aspects of who Jesus
is in our lives. Although He IS the Most
High, although He IS The Redeemer, although He IS The Healer, although He IS
The Source and Provider, He is only those amazing things to US if we believe
that He is and we receive Him by faith, and we declare/confess it to be so with
our mouths; just like we are saved - Romans 10:9-10.
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:13, “I believed in God, so I
spoke”. We must believe Who God says He
is to us in Psalm 91 and SAY SO! Let’s
put our angels to work by declaring what God’s Word says, and we and our
families can indeed dwell in perfect safety and peace in a world that is
anything but. Although we are in this
world, we are NOT of this world. We are
sheltered with His wings. His faithful
promises are our armor and protection!
I challenge you today to read all of Psalms 91 in several
translations. Always remember, life and
death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21) and He is watching over
HIS Word to perform it in your life (Jeremiah 1:12)!
