God Is Good

God Is Good

In a service awhile ago we took time to give scriptures and include an “offering” message during that part of the service.  Typically we cover something in God’s word regarding finances to build our faith in what God says about that subject.  I think it’s pretty clear that finances, health, and relationships are the main things the enemy is out to destroy in our lives.  After all, what do you spend most of your time thinking about when it comes to needs you may have?  Chances are they fall in one of these three areas.

As the church, we don’t need to apologize for what the Bible makes very clear.  God is good.  He wants you blessed.  He wants you to be a blessing to others.  It says in the second half of Romans 2:4, that “it’s the goodness of God that leads men to repentance.”  The drawing agent that God uses on humans is His goodness.  Let me ask you a question.  How are people going to see that God is good unless our lives are living proof of that very fact?  If the three things we talked about earlier are on most humans brains a large percentage of the time, then what would make them stop in their busy tracks and give them hope?  Simply when they see someone else’s life filled with the goodness of God in their health, relationships and finances.

The Bible is rich in scriptures regarding these subjects and it’s clear to see that it’s God’s will for us to be prosperous in all three.  The world and Christians alike will misinterpret the bible regarding all three areas (especially money), but we need to be sure and let the bible interpret itself.  My rule of thumb is to view all scripture through this lens, “God is good.”  I’m reading the gospel (good news).  If it doesn’t seem like good news then I’m not interpreting it correctly.  Find out what God has said regarding these areas and believe that He wants your life full of His goodness in all three.  It will bless you and in turn act as God’s drawing agent to everyone you come in contact with.
