Faith is like a rope

Faith is like a Rope

One of the best illustration on faith has always been that faith is like a rope.

Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)
Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Faith is what we use to get things that are not physically tangible.  According to Hebrews 11, our faith is the assurance (the title deed) of the things we hope for.  That means that it is ours when we use our faith!

Have you ever been to a rodeo?  If so then you have seen a cowboy use a rope to capture a calf or a sheep.  Once he throws the rope and gets it around the animal, then he HAS that animal.  As long as he hangs on to the rope and doesn’t let go, then he can pull it in until he can hang on to it with his hands.

That is much like the way our faith works.  When we pray and believe God for something (healing, finances, answers, etc), then we have whatever we ask for right at that moment.  We may not see it with our physical eyes right away, but we have it by faith.  It’s ours right then!  We just need to keep pulling on our faith rope until we see it manifest in our lives.  We do that by thanking God for that which we asked.  A lot of people don’t thank God right away because they don’t see it.  But we thank someone at the moment we receive something from them, right? Then we should thank God at the moment we ask, because that is when we receive it from HIm.  That is faith.

So when the enemy tries to whisper to you that you’ll never get something you already have by faith, just don’t listen.  Just thank God and don’t let go of that rope.  Hang on to your confidence (your faith rope) because you know that there is a great reward attached to the end.

Hebrews 10:34 (AMP)
Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward.
