Just eat some life

Just eat some life

Believe it or not, this box of cereal was what God used to speak to me this morning.  As a parent, He speaks to me a lot through our two boys, Colton and Carson.  This particular morning, Colton was asking for “cecil” which is cereal so I pulled out all the options.  Ya wanna know which one He chose?  He chose life.  Our two year old has it down more than His daddy (me).

It’s interesting to me that as an adult, when bad things happen, we say things like “thats just life man.”  We have been so distorted in our thinking that we simply answer away a problem with a phrase that isn’t even true.  That’s just life!? What a backwards statement.  Life is good.  It’s fresh.  It’s pure.  It’s lovely.

I love that given all the options, Colton chose life.  You and I are the same way.  Everyday we have a plate “full of options” and it’s our choice what we eat.  Psalms 23:5 says it perfect in the NLT.  It says:

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.

There is a table that has been prepared just for you everyday of your life.  It is full of truth, love, righteousness, joy, peace, goodness, long suffering and so on!  Your day just like mine will be filled with all the options but I want to encourage you today to be like a child and choose life.

Have you ever noticed how kids are so full of life!?  Like after 5 minutes of watching them, you are exhausted because they just keep going and going ha ha!!  Never wanting to stop or quit!

If you have found yourself in a stagnant state of life, come to the table that has been prepared for you in the presence of all the chaos going on in your life.  Receive what He has to freely give you.  It’s His promises and faithfulness.  He will give you everything you will need to be like that child and keep going even in the hard times!

These will help you out:

Psalms 23

Psalms 37

Proverbs 3

Ephesians 2

Romans 8

These are all chapters in Gods word that are FULL of life!  His whole word is full of Life, but here are some places to start!
