The grass is turning green, flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and yes, the rain is raining! But it’s all so beautiful and wonderful. We look around at what was once (just a few weeks ago) brown and totally lifeless, and see things coming back to life and being made brand new!
Do you know, it’s exactly the same way Spiritually? Ephesians 2:4-7 says this:
4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) 6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
This is something to celebrate! We are no longer the dead person we used to be, but now, because we are in Christ, we are brand new! So as you look around this spring, remember how God has raised you up to new life. Leave the past, old life behind and grow up in Him as you learn to know Him more and more.
Colossians 3:1-4 (NLT)
3 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
