Making a Giving
I recently heard a minister
say that he doesn’t make a living, he makes a giving. It can be so easy to take
the responsibility of raising kids, paying the bills, saving for vacation,
Christmas, retirement, the list goes on. That list will actually go on for as
long as you take the time to think about that list.
In Genesis 8:22 it reads: “While
the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and
day and night shall not cease.” Sowing and reaping is a principle that will
last as long as the earth, in all areas: physically, spiritually,
financially.
Identify the issues you are
facing. Are you stressed a lot lately? Perhaps you can take some time to sow
into someone’s life, or the church, or the local community outreach. By sowing
time into enriching someone else’s life, you will reap rewards in your own
life.
Do you feel like you’re in the worst physical shape of your life? Perhaps
you could research a good starting plan for walking/running, or doing a few
at-home exercises. By sowing into your physical shape, you will reap the
rewards and gain a healthier body. Of course the same is true financially.
Seed, time, harvest.. Paul said in Galatians 6:7 (KJV) “Be not deceived; God is
not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
If we will renew our minds
on the Word of God concerning our role in His provision, I believe we will be
taken to new heights in all areas of our lives. As we endeavor to sow more, and
remove the false responsibility that we are to provide for ourselves, God’s
hands will be freed to work on our behalf!
