Heart of Worship
As far back as I can
remember, I always loved music. My mom would catch me out on our front
swing singing as loud as I was swinging. I can still remember the song, "If
I had a hammer, I’d hammer in the morning". Lol. But still to this day,
music plays such a major role in my life. I love to worship and almost
always wake up with a different worship song in my thoughts.
A few Sunday’s ago we sang
a song in worship time titled, “Heart of worship.” As i sang it I began
to weep, thinking as I sang, It IS all about HIM! Our Worship is
about HIM! He desires and longs for our song in our heart to be about
HIM.
Every song has a meaning.
I know at weddings I love to listen to the songs the bride picks out
because it says so much about her heart towards her soon to be spouse.
And on the other spectrum, a person with a not so good heart will sing
about the things that fill their thoughts; drugs, evil, hatred, etc.
The songs that come from
our heart either bless God or they do not. What we focus on will
determine where are heart is. Too much tv will produce tv songs in our
heart. Time in the Word will produce worship songs in our day. You
meditate on David and the Psalms for very long and you will begin to crave that
same heart of worship that he had.
Psalm 138:1 says, “I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart”
When the music fades,
all is stripped away, and I simply come
Longing just to bring
something that’s of worth that will bless your heart… I’m coming back to
the heart of worship, and it’s all about You, Jesus
What kind of song are we
bringing to Jesus. I want to bring something that’s of worth, something
that will bless His heart. More than just a song, He’s looking at our
heart I just wanted to encourage you and trust me, encourage myself, that
during this busy time of the year to decide to get away from it all and spend
some quiet time singing to the Lord, worshipping Him with your whole heart.
Then sit back and watch the changes that will take place in your heart.
True Worship blesses The Fathers heart and will in turn bless yours.
