God Who Answers Prayers

God Who Answers Prayers

Have you ever worked, worked, worked, worked, and worked only to realize that you still haven’t accomplished what it is you are trying to accomplish and you still need to work some more?!  Yep!  Been there and done that!  How many times have I jumped in the car and left God at the table where He was going to be giving me some wisdom for the day ahead of me?!  Far to much!

I am writing today to encourage you to talk to God today.  Did you know that He has an answer for all our questions?!  There are things that we are desiring and are not sure how to accomplish them but if we will ask, He will answer!

I will give you a quick testimony.  Just recently, Joanie and I were sideswiped by this holiday that everyone calls Christmas!  It came out of no where!  I think just last week we were up in Branson for Champions for Christ youth rally!  (Not really…it was actually in July). Anyways, as you know, Christmas is next week!

Joanie and I were not in a place to buy each other gifts, let alone other people so you know what we did?  We asked the Lord.  We simply asked for His help, and His wisdom on what to do.  He answered!!  He showed us some things in our home that have been just sitting around and we sold them.  Joanie went to a party and won $50 dollars in gift cards.  She received a bonus from her work. We went to the church and there was a card for us with 100 dollars in it!!

I received a text from my in laws saying they wanted to help us with Christmas and pay for our gas on the way home from Iowa!! All these things happened within the last week!  You know that God will help you if you just ask Him to!?  He wants to be involved with you today!  Don’t go and leave Him at home while you go and try to make things happen!  Let Him be apart!  He created this day just for you and knows what is going to make you tick!  Just ask Him!
I will leave you with this!

This is Psalms 18:6 MSG
A hostile world! I call to God,
I cry to God to help me.
From his palace he hears my call;
my cry brings me right into his presence—
    a private audience!

Change Your Tires

Change Your Tires

“A bad attitude is like a flat tire, if you don’t change it, you will never go anywhere."
Have you ever been stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire? Man what a pain! It’s really never convenient to have a flat tire because you have to do something about it.

Our attitudes are the same way. It’s never convenient to change our attitudes, but boy does it make a world of difference! You just won’t get very far in life with a bad attitude. But when you do change it, you will get to see things you never would have otherwise.
Let’s see what the Word says…

1 Thessalonians 5:18 Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Ephesians 5:20 Give thanks always, and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 17:22 A joyful heart is a good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
A true good attitude and an attitude changer is thankfulness! Be thankful in The Lord and you can pull your attitude from a flat tire to a brand new one that gets you going down the road God intended. The next time you feel like being sour, get thankful and allow God to change your attitude. It may not be convenient, but it sure is worth it!

Turn the Light On!

Turn the Light On!

Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night to a crying child?  To grab a drink of water? Use the restroom?  Once you get up out of bed you may step on that Lego car your children made the day before.  Or maybe you are at a hotel or a friend or family members house and you lose your bearings and run into a wall or door or maybe stub your toe?
I think this has happened to almost all of us on more than one occasion.  You know the remedy for avoiding this?  Turn the light on!

Do you ever feel like this when it comes to your spiritual walk?  Many times we go through life stumbling around, our focus off, hurting ourselves.  Then we become frustrated, hurt, and ultimately lose our desire to want to get up anymore.  So what’s the remedy to avoid this spiritual slump in life?  Turn the light on!

Psalm 119:105 says, “Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my journey.”
God never intended for us to walk around in the dark.  He has given us His Word.  His very Word is light!
1.  It’s a light to our feet- it shows us that God has called us, and that we do have a purpose.  So you can get up out of bed because God has called YOU!
2.  It’s a light for our journey- He’s also given us that light to continue walking along the path that He has for us.

The amazing thing about light is, when it’s there, darkness cannot be around.  When we put God’s Word in our eyes, ears, and mouths darkness cannot be around.  When the Word of God is first place in our lives we walk around with purpose, and the path is made clear.

So today, turn the light on!  Why walk around in life in the dark? God has given us the biggest, brightest light - His WORD!  In His Word are all the answers we need in life.
