The apostle Paul instructs his son in the faith, Timothy, to
fight the good fight of faith. The good
fight. What is a good fight? One that you win!
The fight of faith is not a fight that is trying or hoping
to obtain something from God. 2nd Peter
1:3 says that God HAS ALREADY given us everything that pertain to life and
godliness. He’s given it all! He has freely and graciously and gloriously
given us every good and perfect gift!
The fight? The fight is to
believe Him! You may be saying,
what?! I most certainly do believe God!
God says that He has made you righteous - through the Blood
of Jesus. He says that He sees you just
like He sees Jesus - just like you’ve never done anything wrong. When is the last time you were under
condemnation because of something you did?
Have you ever said, “I feel so unworthy”? And because of this feeling of unworthiness,
you’ve stayed away FROM God instead of running TO Him?
God said in Isaiah 53 and in 2nd Peter 2 that with the
stripes that wounded Jesus, we are healed and made whole. Your body is screaming with symptoms of
sickness and disease. The doctor gives
you a “different report”. Whose report
do you believe?
God said in Philippians 4 that He supplies ALL of your needs
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Have you ever had doubts and wondered how you
were going to be able to meet your family’s financial needs? Have you ever paced the floor at night with
the mind boggling pressure of having more bills than you have resources?
God said in Philippians 4 that you can do ALL things through
Christ Who gives you strength. Have you
ever chickened out when He asked you to witness to your co-worker because you
were intimidated?
THIS is the fight of faith!
It is the absolute determination that when thoughts and circumstances
contrary to God’s Word come to us, we
reject those thoughts and bring them into subjection to the obedience of Christ
by opening our mouths and refuting those arguments with what God says! 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.
The enemy is after God’s Word in you! He wants you to believe that the temporal
circumstances in your life, and believe me, anything that you can experience with
your five senses is temporal, are more real than what God says to you and about
you! So, the fight is on! What are you going to believe when thoughts
of guilt, condemnation, sickness, disease, lack, poverty, depression come your
way? The enemy’s lies or your Father’s
Word?
Revelation 12 tells us that we overcome by the Blood of the
Lamb and the word of our testimony. God
has perfectly and gloriously done His part!
Now, you arm yourself with His Word and enforce the victory in every
area of your life that Christ died to give you!
You are well able!!
1 Timothy 1:18 (GNT) Timothy, my child, I entrust to you
this command, which is in accordance with the words of prophecy (God’s Word)
spoken in the past about you. Use those
words as weapons in order to fight well …
