Our Secret Place

Psalm 91:1 

"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty"

As I sit outside and watch my girls play I hear my oldest say to her little sister.

"This is our secret place, nothing can get us in here" As she holds up this old broken umbrella over the both of them.

YES!!!!!!  What a perfect illustration of what God does for us.  But instead of a flimsy umbrella He covered us with the blood of Jesus.  The blood is our secret hiding place.  

I heard someone once use this example and it has stuck with me ever since.  

"The devil will always be shooting arrows at us. He will always be trying to destroy us.  But when we apply the blood in our lives, we have a shelter and he can't see us. We are hidden and in full protection. It is not until we stand up and announce our whereabouts that he can find us."

That is so true.  When we start to pick up a care.  ANY CARE.  What do we normally do?  Well, we talk about it.  We announce it.  "I am so sick", "I'm so frustrated at work", "I'm so tired" and we start declaring curses.  Then we poke our head up out of our secret shelter and he can find us every time.  But, if instead we say "thank you Lord, this sickness is passing" "thank you Lord that you know my needs before I know them" "Thank you Lord that your joy is my strength" then we remain under the blood and we stay in our secret shelter.  The place that the enemy cannot even see.  The blood of Jesus blinds the enemy.

Praise God I don't have to live in fear.  Praise God He has me under his secret shelter.  

"Say So"

say so

I woke up in the middle of the night with what felt like fire burning in my throat.  I am embarrassed to say that my first thought was, oh no, I have strep throat like someone I work with.  I'm thankful that The Holy Spirit quickly arrested me and in my spirit rose up the scripture

“Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;”
Immediately I began to say out of my mouth, I'm redeemed from this pain in my throat and any other symptoms that go along with it.  I then fell asleep.  

The next morning I was still thinking about the words “say so” so I looked up their meanings.  In the Webster dictionary the word so means, most certainly, exactly as it's said, in the manner it's suggested.  And redeemed means to free from what distresses, help overcome something and live free from the consequences of sin.  

Jesus did this for us when he died for us. He paid for our sickness and our sins at the cross with his very own blood.  He exchanged his blood for our sins.  He cut a covenant with us at that very moment and gave us everything that's his in exchange for everything that was ours. In order to understand this covenant he made with us you have to know what's in the covenant.  



If you were going to sign a contract with someone, you would want to know everything that's in that contract before signing it.  The same is true with the word.  It's important to know everything you are redeemed from. Before you can say “it's so” you have to know what is so! You will see as you study the word that there is absolutely nothing that the devil can put on us that Jesus’ blood has not already paid for.  Jesus paid it all!!

God's desire is that we would live a blessed life.  He sent Jesus to us to make certain we can do that very thing, live redeemed!! 


So for us to began to live this way we MUST begin to say what Jesus says, not what our flesh is saying.  

We are redeemed, most certainly, exactly as it's said, in the manner it's suggested!  

We are healed, most certainly, exactly as it's said, in the manner it's suggested!  

We are blessed, most certainly, exactly as it's said, in the manner it's suggested!

This is God's great plan for us!

I encourage you to find out what's really yours and began to say it's "so”. Let's put the enemy and all his plans once and for all under our feet and began to live the life God intended for us from the very start.

God’s Word is alive and powerful:

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

• Hebrews 4:12

God’s Word is our weapon against the enemy:

Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

• Ephesians 6:17

God’s Word guides us:

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet

    and a light for my path.

• Psalm 119:105

This is just a start, but it helps us see how valuable and powerful God’s Word is. It is the very will of God! 

Make a decision today to start getting into God’s Word. Get it into your heart and speak it out of your mouth. Remember that it is alive and powerful!
