In John chapter 10, Jesus talks about identity. He talks
about himself, explaining who He is, and who He is not. He goes on to tell us
multiple times He's the good shepherd, and he said "my purpose is to give
you a rich and satisfying life".
I would venture to say that the fear in every conflict we
face could be erased if we came back to the point Jesus was making in this
chapter about who he is, and why that matters to us. He introduces himself as a
shepherd and we are his sheep. A good shepherd takes good care of his sheep,
watches over his sheep, and ultimately wants them to live a rich and satisfying
life. Jesus wants that for us! The only hangup, if you could call it that, is
that you have the choice to follow Him or not! Choose to follow Him and stay
close by His side, and you'll be continually reminded that He really is good,
and really does want good things for you. Not only does He want it, He delivers
it!
John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd. The good
shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep."
